And, We’re Off

It’s a relief to be getting on this boat! I’ve dreamed about this for years, we’ve planned and prepared for months and we’ve been packing and getting the house ready for weeks, all while continuing to live normal family life with all of its ups, downs and emotions.

It rained so hard Wednesday morning that we were driving through small lakes on the roads as we headed to the bank, Scott’s dad’s house and then the airport. My sister, Linda, dropped us off safely with smiles and hugs and words of encouragement.

We’ve enjoyed a couple of days in NYC seeing some favorite places, an awesome literary artifact exhibit at the library, sharing dinner with Lori Bumpas, my long-time friend from Camp Shiloh, purchasing the last of our needed items and celebrating Mass at St. Patrick’s cathedral in Midtown.

Goodbye friends and family! We will miss you and will pray for you. We’d appreciate your prayers as well – for safety and open eyes and hearts and a willingness to receive what God has to offer during this season.
